14 day trip, Labelle Florida to Jasper Arkansas

Just returned from a 14 day 4858 mile trip from Labelle Florida to Jasper Arkansas.  Took mostly back roads and highways to and from, with a short stint on I 20 getting there.  Stayed 7 days 8 nights at the Tie Hack cabin in Mt Sherman about 7 miles west of Jasper AR with four other riders, 2 from PA, 1 from New Mexico and 1 from Florida.  Road my 2013 Trophy as opposed to the  2021 Tiger 900 GT Pro.  The Trophy performed perfectly as expected.  The roads and scenery around that area, including some of Missouri are great, lots of curves as well as ups and downs.  However, while the roads provided great fun and challenges, the road surface was for the most part smooth but very coarse asphalt resulting a completely destroyed relatively new Pirelli GT II front tire.  The rear tire faired much better.   The ride home was not so great due to the front being cupped extremely bad.  Best breakfast in that area was from the Ozark Cafe in Jasper. A huge old stone building with great waitresses and food.  If anyone is going to that area I would recommend the Tie Hack cabin it has four bedrooms 6 beds with a shower upstairs and down.  The driveway was paved to the road but getting turned around was a little bit of and issue due to grassy area having loose stones between it and the driveway.  Anyhow a good time was had by all and everyone returned home safely. The dog was a stray that showed up and got fed very well.

Correct you are.  Two older GWs, a 21 DCT Tour and a 19 RT.

From the condition of the tire I see that you have also enjoyed good cornering.

I see that you have a good guard with a very nice dog...
Only motorcyclists know why dogs stick their head out the car window.

Cornering on Arkansas roads was like cornering on a cheese grater.  The dog became a good friend and was fed accordingly.  LOL

Is that cabin on 74 between 7 and 43? I hope you rode 123, and 125 in Missouri. Two of the best roads from where you were. But so many more that are great also. I hope you had some cooler weather for your trip.

Yes it is and yes we did.  125 I thought was the best of the best.   After the ferry 125 in Missouri was just perfect.

I hope you did 125 north of 160. That is one of my favorite roads in the Ozark’s. If it is still open, you were close to one of the best places to it close to you on 74 between Jasper to the east on 7 and 43 to the west. There was a little Cafe in Low Gap. Cemetery was on the left. Cafe on the right. That stretch of 74 is a much ride every time I’m over there.
Have not been there this year. You are making me want to go bad! Only about 325 miles from Oklahoma City. Time to got of my and go.
