    Exhaust heat shield loose

The bike has had a small rattle on start up for a while now and this weekend I finally found it was the heat shield which sits under my right boot, which had broken the weld one end and the attachment strap fractured at the other end. Luckily I was able to remove the complete item and fabricate a new strap,
and reweld the shield back on, fortunately, I bought some stainless wire for my mig welder not long ago.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Yes, happened on mine some years ago. I was able to get a new silencer from a member who had fitted a louder one. Never got round to welding it, but it would have been an easy job.

In a tire change they lost that silencer plate that I could not recover. I had to make a new one...
