    My ‘new’ 2013 TT 1200 A1

    Hello everyone,

As I mentioned in my newbee post, today I replaced the MAP sensor on my Triumph Trophy 1200.
The engine immediately idled  :046: . And after being off for a while and restarting, the engine management light was also off  :152: :047:
With the button combination to read the DTC I saw that the DTC code was still there, I think I have to delete it manually.  After I disconnected the battery for changing the sensor another DTC came up at P1521 but this one has to do with the ABS, and I suspect this DTC is gone after I've been driving.  I'm still waiting for an OBD cable.

I bought the Triumph Trophy 1200 A1 with 61500km(38214 mi) unseen for little money.  Now something needs to be done, but given the prices here at the dealers (between €8000-€11000) I still have some spending space ;).
I hope to test drive on Friday.

things I want to do also:
    - check rear brake/switch (feels 'hard').
    - change the fronttire (rear is new).
    - by the 'big' service then the spark plugs, air filter and oil, because then you have the engine completely open.

PS.  to replace the MAP sensor I did not completely remove the covers, but made enough space at the height of the sensor so that I could reach it.

    I'll keep you informed

Hope you all can understand it, it is translated by google translate.

    Roadofficer.

Below a small first impression of the Trophy, if I have better pictures I will post them.

    The translation is perfectly understandable.

Related to the P1521 error code, you may have or have had problems with the rear brake and the ABS modulator popping that DTC.

    Hi again,

DTC’s remain in the ECU memory for a period after the fault has been rectified.

This is explained in the downloadable document I referred to previously listing the DTC’s and their meanings.

Most DTC’s are listed as “3/40/Y”

The first number refers to how many “No fault” starts are needed before the MIL Light is extinguished.

The second number refers to how many “No fault” starts are needed before the DTC is deleted from the ECU Memory, and the “Y” is a confirmation that the DTC is one that will cause the MIL light to illuminate.

With diagnostics equipment connected DTC codes can be manually deleted without the need for the 40 “No fault” starts.

    Hi Digital and Coconut,
    thanks for your replies.  :763:
I had read the document about the DTC codes, but I hadn't understood it for some reason (maybe because I was ill).
But with your explanation, it is completely clear!  Thanks for that!  What a lot of information you have collected and shared!  Thanks for that too!
My motorcycle was imported from Belgium.  Perhaps the previous owner was also a member of this Forum, that would be nice!

    Cheers  :821:

Indeed, I don't understand that either, everyone should be a member of such a great forum.

First ride is over, it takes some getting used to but it drives fantastic  :046: , ABS DTC is now out.
just took a few photos, the other motorbike is a rental motorbike from my son, he rented a motorbike for the weekend..

Have tested the following things while driving
    - cruise control works
    - heated grips works
    - heated seat works
    - Also the accelerator and brakes have been tested, of course.

the seller said that the engine shifted a bit difficult and went into neutral, with me it shifted well up and down, also in neutral.

what I find strange is when I turn off the TT and the screen shows TRIP 1 then I start it then jumps to TRIP 2, when I turn off the engine it remains TRIP 2, but when I start again it jumps back to TRIP  1. is that normal? or is that a setting?

    That doesn't seem right.

According to Page 37 of the Owners Handbook :

By default the last selected Trip Computer (TRIP 1 or TRIP 2)
will be displayed when the ignition is turned on.

I just checked for you on my Trophy :

If TRIP 1 is displayed on the Instrument Panel when I turn the Ignition OFF,
TRIP 1 is displayed when the Ignition is turned ON, and also when the engine is started.

If TRIP 2 is displayed on the Instrument Panel when I turn the Ignition OFF,
TRIP 2 is displayed when the Ignition is turned ON, and also when the engine is started.

To switch between TRIP 1 and TRIP 2 - briefly press the Select ( "i" ) button.

If you have TRIP 2 selected, try switching to TRIP 1 ( "i" ) button,
turn the Ignition OFF, wait 30 seconds, then turn the Ignition back ON and see if TRIP 1 is still displayed.

If it is, switch to TRIP 2 and turn the Ignition OFF, wait 30 seconds and turn it back ON.

It should not be possible to have TRIP and TRIP 2 set with exactly the same Items
in either the Upper or Lower dispaly lines.

If the issue persists, you could try going into the Menu
and changing one or both of the displayed Items for TRIP 2
and see if this makes any difference :

Press and hold the  "i" button to enter the SETTINGS Menu
Scroll to TRIP SETUP and press the "i" button
Scroll to TRIP 2 ITEMS and press the "i" button
At the TRIP 2 ITEMS "UPPER" screen, use the Scroll Button
to change to a different Item, then press the "i" button to save.
The display will change to allow selection the Item for the Lower display line
so you can either change this, or press the "i" button to leave it as is,
    and Exit the Menu.
Scroll to EXIT and press the "i" button to exit the SETTINGS Menu.

Try again and see if it's made any difference.

If not then one more "last resort" thing to try, is to switch the Ignition OFF,
leave it for 30 seconds then disconnect the Main Battery
and leave it disconnected for 10 minutes before reconnecting.

Some Members have reported that doing this can resolve some strange electrical glitches !

    Cheers  :821:

I found the same problem as Roadofficer says, to which I want to add something else, the heated seat icon also appeared for a few seconds.

I fixed it by replacing the battery.
