Transponder antenna repair - possible ?

Does anyone know if it's possible to repair the transponder cable if it's been cut ?

It is somewhat complicated, but yes it can be repaired or made a modification that may interest you.

So just soldering the broken cables back together won't work ?

If the coil wire has broken in one place, it is possible that if you can repair it, there is already a small impedance margin to get it working again. If you go over the necessary impedance for it to work. You can have problems in that there are times when the motorcycle does not start.

If you stuck a screwdriver between the coil wires, you may have split the coil wires in several places. In that case you must make a new coil.

The problem would be introducing a new wiring of the antenna coil in its place of origin.

I forgot to say, that if the coil wire is broken in one place, you must solder that wire with tin so that the wire can be soldered. You must clean the ends of the cable to be soldered well, since all the coil cables have a varnish bath so that short circuits are not caused. Later, they sell some varnish spray cans for electronic components and you must spray that varnish on the soldered place.

I should have been clearer, the cut was in the cable just before it plugs into main harness, not the actual antenna. It seems that soldering the two cables back has fixed it, at least a first quick test and the bike starts. I haven't extended the length of the transponder cables as I intended to do, I just soldered them back at the cut. 

It was a really stupid thing to do ! I am fixing the ignition cable problem (again !!)  by making the cables longer and cut the transponder cables as well !

I understand... If it's true, you didn't explain yourself well. Now I understand that you mean the seven wires that come out of the ignition key and go to the immobilizer connector.

The transponder cables can be extended without problems (the remaining five cables can also be extended), already, I will say that the best thing and not having more problems with the ignition, is to make the seven cables long and that they come out from the ignition key and take them to the beginning of the gasoline tank, once there, pass them under the drawer (glove box) and once there, enter completely straight up to the immobilizer connector.

So you understand what I'm saying. You would lay the cables of the harness making a kind of U and I assure you that you will never have problems with cables or brake hoses getting caught.
