No price change for 2014 SE
« on: October 06, 2013, 02:28:16 PM »
I was happy to find out from my dealer that there is no increase in the base price for the Trophy SE for 2014.  :046:

On another note, I asked my dealer, who sells both BMW and Triumph, which is the more reliable, the K1600 or the Trophy SE.  Without hesitation he said the Triumph and promptly walked me over to the two BMW K1600's and RT1200 he had sitting on the floor.  He said that they had already put new switch gear onto all three bikes, as there were problems with them as they arrived from the factory.   He said that Triumph has mostly addressed their issues and the new software has already been installed in their bikes.

 Steve

Re: reliability it's nice to hear good reports about our bikes.
Re: no price increase
Pro - should increase the number of Trophy riders
Con - higher priced 2014s would have increased the resale value of 2013s

Did he happen to say when the 14s might be available?

I'm pleased they are not reducing the price ! I know its too late when you've bought it but you want to see your investment fall of a cliff

Sorry, but since I'm waiting until I get back from Colorado, I didn't ask.

If I was a potential Trophy purchaser, I would be waiting for the 2014 bikes....hopefully the bugs will have been sorted out by then.

Switchgear seems to be a major issue with current BMW's. Got talking to 2 guys last week who, between them, had 5 sets of clusters in the last few years.
