    Brake calipers

A question, which other Triumphs use the same front brake calipers as the Trophy SE.

The reason for the question is that the pistons on my calipers have started to rust on the outer 2-3 mm edges of one or two pistons, and rather than replace them with standard pistons, I would like to fit Stainless Steel pistons, but the companies that sell them don't have the Trophy SE front calipers listed only the rear.

So if another Triumph have the same calipers I'm in with a chance of purchasing some, I know Sprint Manufacturing stock SS pistons, but at the moment they mainly supply for older Triumphs.     :084:

Usually if you enter a Triumph Part Number into your usual search engine, such as Google,
you will be able to find a list of which other Models of motorcycle the parts fit.

I've done this for the Trophy Calipers and the Pistons, and no other Models are returned.

    Cheers  :821:

Further evidence that the Trophy was a one-of-a-kind, purpose built work of art

it seems to me that the front calipers are the same as in the yamaha fjr1300, after the facelift, I do not remember from which year, the pads are the same, the caliper looks the same
    I checked since 2006

Yes, according to the EBC catalog, the Yamaha FJR1300 ABS 2006-2020 uses the same FA423 brake pad.

What diameter are the TT pistons ?  Maybe the Yamaha calipers have the same diameter pistons, I would think they probably are.  If so maybe S.S. caliper pistons are available for the Yamaha and will fit the TT ?

    Hi Grubloon,

I have just had my front calipers serviced by Powerhouse for £180 and they had the option for St.St.Pistons.

I had my rear caliper serviced about 12 months ago and can highly recommend Powerhouse who are in Chesterfield.
    Love, light, and kindness,

    Dave

    GarminDave,

Thanks for the info, will have a look at powerhouse, Triumph parts are around £134 for pistons and seals for two calipers, daft thing is SS pistons for rear calipers available from a number of places.

I will measure the pistons to see if they fit other designed triumph calipers.

Jerzy and STJIM, thanks for your info, once I've measured the pistons I will look at Yamaha pistons, goes against the grain though, fitting Yamaha parts to a Triumph.   :084:
