    Being a bit of a "cheapskate" I just cut a section of old moped inner tube and put it on over the spring. Tie wrapped it top and bottom and put a couple of 3mm holes in to allow some air to circulate and any moisture to get out. Worked okay for me. To be fair, I had never heard of a shock sock.
