The trophy fulfills everything one could wish for when traveling or going to buy bread. Another thing is what you want to add to the bike. But I assure you that you will need very little.

It is a shame that this bike was discontinued, because there are few bikes that reach the level that the Trophy has. "There is no bike that reaches the Trophy to the tip of the shoe", as they say!

Thank you Digital! What sort of things do you think would want to add? I think mainly led lights and a light bar/spots and engine guard. Maybe a brake light if I get one with the top box. Do you have other suggestions?

It is a true shame that Triumph stopped making them. I just hope it doesn’t become too difficult to find parts as they age further and these electronics start failing  :110: :110:

I had a look at the Triumph Approved web site,
and the Trophy no longer appears in the list to be ablke to search for any,
so I guess there must be an age limit to be an "Approved Used" Triumph !

Lings at Ipswich have got a Blue Trophy SE on a '14 plate -
    31,700 miles, £6,295 with 3 months warranty.
They might let it out for a Test Ride !

Looks nice in the Photo's ( they always do ! ) but it doesn't have Heated seats,
which are now very hard to find, and therefore may not have Heated Grips either.
( Heated Grips ARE still available ! )

Warranties are like Insurance - worth having and hope you never need to use them !

There have been a few meetings / gatherings over the years, but nothing regular.

There were plans for a meet up at the Triumph Factory but that got scuppered by Covid.
    ( Which reminds me - I paid a £20 deposit for that ! )

Servicing costs always include ( IMHO ) far too much for Labour,
but some of that can be minimised - for example if you were able to
remove the Fairings yourself, then deliver and collect the bike on a van
or on a trailer, and / or do some of the work yourself - Oil changes are
easy enough,  Air Filter & Spark Plugs not so much as the Fairings
and Fuel Tank have to removed to get at them.

There's plenty of information within the Forum about servicing,
and After Market diagnostics tools such as "DealerTool" and "TigerTool".

Mine will be due the major 20,000 mile service either later this year or possibly next year,
which includes the Camshaft Timing check & adjust, and the Valve clearance check and adjust,
taking at least a full 2 days, and will cost in the region of £1600.00 + !  :005:

Cheers and Happy Hunting !  :028:

Thank you very much Coconut! It is all very helpful indeed.
I will try and get a test ride sorted somehow (or might just bite the bullet and take a chance, who knows!)

I’m hoping to get one that’s either past and done the 20k service or has quite a bit to go due to the new heads during the recall for example. It does sound painful but again I also just spent over £1200 on service and parts for the HD (and not even at stealership!)

:400: to the forum.  I'm in the middle of the 40K mile service right now and boy what a bunch of work!  Now to wait for some valve shims before I can put it back together.

I now have a short list of accessories built into my motorcycle.

If you have a lady who travels with you, it would be good if the motorcycle you buy does not have a heated rear seat. Well, one more thing to add.

On the other hand, and your wife will thank you, would be to put heated grips on the rear gray grips.

For you, it would be very useful to place a white light inside the TopCase.

Also of course, and at least place a led light for the brake light, installed in the TopCase.

White daytime running lights replaced by the turn signals.

If you are a lover of manipulating the buttons on the handlebar grips. It would be good for you to place a led light inside the buttons and at night you will know which button to press.

There are many more things that can be placed, since it is a very spacious motorcycle for what you need.

On the other hand, I can say that I am 1.63 meters tall and I handle the Trophy well, both standing and running.
Only motorcyclists know why dogs stick their head out the car window.

    Hey Digital,

    Muchas gracias Senor!

I can see that you got your accessories game well sorted. I appreciate the info and will keep your recommendations in mind! I think pillion seats are a must and certainly some light upgrades but not sure I got the knowledge or time to get some of the other ones done.

    Take care and ride safe.

    Cheers!

Wecome to the forum, I wouldnt let a lack of heated seats put you off buying. i didnt find them as good as I expected, we  prefer  heated jackets.
