Coconut, I screwed the filter on till hand tight, then torqued it to 10nm, that struck me as being quite tight, I made sure the O ring/seal was well lubed before fitting.
I will see what happens on the next oil change next year, I will definitely undo it while the engine is warm and before I dump the engine oil.
As I have a Big Blue bike lift I had to drop the bike down to floor level to drop the oil as there's no where to place an oil drain tank, then lift the bike back up to remove the filter, as back problems preclude lying on the garage floor for too long, maybe the engine had cooled too much and filter became tight again, so filter will be off first next time, I will fit some type of frame to hold the drain tank with the bike in the air for next time.
