Mine went like that too  :015: check your down pipes near the balance pipe welds. These down pipes are so thin  :151:

It's a solid looking solution, the only downside might be when you come to change the rear tyre, keep a good eye on the tyre fitter, they may not be very mechanically sympathetic.

Funny enough, it was when I was taking the rear wheel off for a tyre replacement that I noticed the issue in the first place.  I wouldn't leave my bike in to a tyre fitter for new tyres, I would always remove the rims myself, that way I know everything is taken off and replaced properly with correct torque settings etc.  I had thought of the "what if" next time around.  Hopefully, this will last a good while.  I'll go down the welding route in future if necessary I suppose, but at the minute, its probably more solid than it originally was. :008:

Now that's a good job. Any links to the parts you ordered? Well to the joint part anyway please?

I got this from Amazon, but I note the actual size I got is out of stock.  Mine was the 53mm-57mm, 125mm long part.
you would probably get away with the ECO12 or ECO14 part from the listing below.

I also used this to seal. You could go for a bigger circumference clamp and use a bit more of this tape to seal

Looks great Paul. Where did you get the joint from? Any web links please? I’m in need as I’ve a temporary fix on at the moment.

Remove the old clamp and clean as much rust off as you can.  I then applied some exhaust sealer then done a tight wrap of that fibreglass heat tape, then tightened the clamp down  Solid as a rock, albeit a bit industrial looking.  Now mines been on a while, it has toned down to nearer the original exhaust colour, and its really not that noticeable. :028:
