Hey All,  I am looking at buying a bike to ride this summer and was hoping to get your thoughts.  I really like the trophy SE and there is one locally that looks to be in great shape.  But I also stumbled on a 2019 Versys 1000 for the same price.  A much different looking bike but one that is 6 years newer and filled with new technology.   My goal is to do some two up riding with my wife on the back.  A couple questions I have:  has technology changed so much in the last while that I should consider the Versys?  I live in Canada... Are you seeing parts becoming hard to find or will they be unavailable in a few years?  Thanks for all your comments

Some of the genuine Triumph accessory parts are becoming unavailable from dealers, but Hermys in Port Clinton Pennsylvania is an excellent source and if they don't have what you want they will look in the nationwide system and give you another dealer that shows stock.  Not always accurate and still needs to be verified by phone with the dealer you're referred to, but excellent help.  The Trophy was loaded with technology at the time, and it's still not lagging a long way behind current bikes, but there are a few (a bit pricey) that are a notch or two up from the Trophy.  You might stop into the "New Members" section and say hello and get a lot more information there regarding any other questions you might have.  This is the most informative forum I've ever been on with some highly technical professional expertise on a range of things that apply to the Trophy.

    Hi Boco,

it is probably hard to find an opinion about the Versys here as most of us love their Trophy over other bikes.
I would not be able to tell what I miss on my Trophy that comes with a newer bike (no electric windscreen on the Versys... I use that frequently).
Like me you want to ride with the Missy on longer tours- so no race mode electronics needed I'd say.

All depends on your use case.
