    Hi Gang,

    I need a new battery.

Can anyone recommend one that they have been happy with?

Like to find something I can buy on Amazon.

    Thanks All.

I replaced mine with the same make and type that was fitted by Triumph.

Yuasa YTX20L-BS - I got it from Halfrauds who had them in stock at the best price locally,
and even better than via Amazon !

There was nothing obviously wrong with the original battery, which I still have as a "spare",
but I replaced it because of its age ( 5 years ) and that I'd stupidy let it go flat a couple of times !  :138:

My '13 had it's battery replaced under warranty due to the audio software issue that killed it twice, then 5 years later I replaced it before a trip because it was losing a little voltage overnight, but not enough to keep it from starting.  Precautionary before being on the road for a while.  Both times with the same type and rating as the original and never had any issues.  I probably will replace the one on my '17 before a long trip due to it's age only.

Just curious,  how much volatage was "lost" ?

And BTW, you can buy a small , hand-held battery tester for about $20.  Saves a lot of guess work.

    I'll chime-in here :

IMHO opinion lithium batteries are way over-rated and too expensive for my budget.  A good AGM battery is more than plenty good. I buy the cheapest AGM batteries I can find online and have never had a problem with one ( yet ) over the last 12 years.  I do admit I'm a PM freak and replace my batteries every 5 years or so, even if they are testing "good'.  Why wait for a failure on the road hundreds of miles from home ?

I keep the old batteries on a maintainer as a spare, just in case.  I admit I do have some 10 year old used spare AGM batteries that are still testing "good".

Don't ask me how a hand-held tester can load test a battery - it must be magic.

I have a battery tester like this one :  https://www.ebay.com/itm/195713132142?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=neufwymfqag&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
