    Fault code P1650

    Hi all.
I turned my Triumph Trophy 1215se 2014 model on yesterday and it said immobiliser fault, so I turned the bike off then pressed the scroll up button and the "i" button then turned the ignition on and it said P1650. I've got a list of fault codes and P1650 said
Lost communication with immobiliser ECM.  and now absolutely nothing happens when I turn the ignition on. Can anyone please help

That's a rare fault to come up.

The first thing I would check is the condition of the Battery, and that the connections to it are clean and tight.

During the check it is worth disconnecting the Battery, leaving it a couple of minutes, then reconnecting it.
Some Members have reported that this can reset some spurious and otherwise unexplained electrical "glitches".

If that is definitely good - have you had the Ignition Switch Wiring Recall inspection carried out ?
( See the Link at the bottom of this Post ).

Even if that Recall HAS been done, there could still be a fault in the Ignition Switch wiring -
With a good battery fitted and the Ignition turned on, if the Instrument Panel is completely dead,
try turning the handlebars from lock to lock and if this resuts in the Instrument panel lighting up,
even momentarily, it indicates faulty Ignition Switch Wiring, and the flexing of the harness is causing
the broken wire(s) to touch and reconnect.  Even if the Instruments do NOT light up during this process
that could still be the fault, with the broken wire(s) separated too much to reconnect when flexed in this way.

.... also check the Integrity of the Ignition switch wiring where it plugs into a socket underneath the left Loudspeaker,
attached by a clip to the underside of the TPMS / Immobiliser module.

With the above checked, the advice given in the Service Manual for this fault is to first check
the Integrity of the combined Immobiliser & TPMS Module connector, followed by wiring checks
from it to the main ECU ( underneath / behind the Headlamp ), and the Ignition switch :

With the Ignition switch OFF, check the following wiring connections for Integrity / Continuity / Short circuits as indicated :

    1.  Check cable and terminal integrity :
    ECM Pin A33
    ECM Pin A34
    Immobiliser Pin 1
    Immobiliser Pin 6

    2.  Check cable for Short Circuit :
    ECM Pin A33 to Ground
    ECM Pin A34 to Ground

    3.  Check cable Continuity :
ECM Pin A33 to Immobiliser Pin 6
ECM Pin A34 to Immobiliser Pin 1
    Immobiliser Pin 7 to Ground
Ignition Switch Pin 5 to Immobiliser Pin 2
Ignition Switch Pin 5 to Immobiliser Pin 8

    4.  After rectifying any faults found, clear fault code and start trhe engine
If fault persists - contact Triumph Service.

    Hope this helps !

    Cheers  :821:
