just a thought
« on: October 15, 2013, 07:32:58 pm »
I was riding early morning yesterday and it was pitch black out

and I suddenly had a thought .....

I wish triumph would put some back lights on the hand controls

even just a very dim red light like on the electric window switch surrounds in your car

found myself pushing all the wrong switches and buttons on the switch gear

as I couldn't see a dam thing on the switch controls

but its all fairly new to me the bike and the switches but some dim lights would be a great help

just enough to aluminate the switches at night .......... just a thought???? :112: :745: :062: :192:

The Goldwing has them and they are useful.

It certainly would be a great improvement.... even when you have been riding it a while and are quite familiar with the switches it is easy to hit the wrong one in the dark...

Easy to do with a couple of leds fixed to tank pointing across at switches.  Will try it when I get time.

Excellent thought.  I've read this complaint in many reviews of the Trophy.  Maybe Triumph wil listen...

Some type of lighting would certainly be appreciated.  Especially on using the audio and cruise at night.

It is a nice thought, but I would want it to be controllable with a dimmer (perhaps electronic) so that it doesn't have to be lit up if you don't want it. I experienced this a couple of nights ago, and thought it might be nice to have some back lighting, but I was still able to figure out the controls without being able to see them even after only riding the bike for 700 miles or so.
