Trophys Are Top!
« on: October 22, 2013, 10:42:44 PM »
Good Day/Evenin' everyone, glad to have joined a forum where info. can be exchanged and experiences shared!
My Trophy is currently 'in the shop' (at Hinckley) because it blew up!
I had 13K on the clock in 9 months and the only extra work had been to replace both front discs as they were 'warped'!  Super bike and a great ride - but this engine seizure is a mystery!!!! I'll post the results of course.
It was at about 8.5rpm in 2nd at 40-45mph, leant well over in a series of bends and BANG!
Triumph have been great, they are as interested as I am to discover the cause, hence why they sent me a loan bike for the duration of their investigation!
Just back from the Ardennes, doing 1300 miles on the loaner, a blue SE. I took this one beyond 8.5 rpm, as before, (with fingers crossed), and it was sweet!
So I'm still very much a fan, and having spent time with RS and GS riders these last few days, they were envious of the after-sales care that Triumph have provided and were grudgingly complimentary about the bike!

Welcome Rooster.  Sorry to hear about your bike, but interested to know what happened.  It's encouraging to hear that Triumph seems to be doing right by you as well.  Please keep us informed as details emerge....

That is bad news. Still it is something that doesn't happen often thank goodness. At least they have given you another bike.

Nasty!

Glad you are OK and Triumph are looking after you. It will certainly be interesting to hear the diagnosis!

To the forum

My sentiments as the other posts to you. Glad you are OK and only the bike suffered. But it is interesting to hear good positive response as some of the other posts tend to slag off Triumph and there responses. But as you and I and many others have found a good company to deal with.

Brilliant bike and a Brilliant BRITISH company.
