Winter Closing in...Cold Rides....
« on: October 27, 2013, 10:13:38 PM »
Rode 176 miles today, from Superior Wisconsin, my Home to Hwy 13 to C to Forest Road 236 to 63 to Delta Drummond Road, Hwy H past the campground, H to C to FF across the Brule, back to 13 and home. Perfectly warmed by electrics and the sun, high 40's most of the way, saw 50 degrees once. God, I love it...   Dreading the ice and snow this year especially, one should never buy a new bike, let alone a Trophy, so close to the end of riding season!!!!

I use mine for commuting. When I bought it in Feb this year it was -2 to -4 degrees. The only addition was a thermal balaclava. I was warm and comfortable. No other bike gives me the weather protection of the TT.

Just curious as to what your occupation might be?  Assuming you need to wear, at a minimum, a dress shirt, slacks and dress shoes, how do you dress for the ride?  Do you get to work early and do a complete change?

I work for a Bank. I leave a pair of trousers and shoes at work and stock up on shirts ands ties (I have a great storage cupboard behind me. I fold the shirt and that goes in the top box just above the laptop bag. Dirty washing goes in the pannier on the way home. I have so much storage on the bike that I never have to worry about what to take. I just take it all!

I used to work in a place that required semi-formal attire.  I just bought some inexpensive running-suit shells and put them on over my dress duds for the ride.  Changed shoes at work..   and combed what's left of my hair..
