Filling the tank
« on: October 31, 2013, 01:02:46 PM »
Is it just me or is the Trophy a PITA to fill the gas tank?  All my other bikes I just stick the nozzle into the tank, engage the auto release mechanism on the pump handle and let go.  On the Trophy the nozzle won't go far enough into the tank for me to let go of the pump handle so I have to stand there and hold it while it fills.  Is this a Triumph thing?

This is a trophy thing (not tiger 955 or Sprint 1050 anyway) and I beleive it is ther to stop you going through the bottom of the tank with an over zealous pump "insertion"  :005:

This has been discussed before. Most of us turn the nozzle vertically into the tank ,keep hold and wait for it to fill.

This "characteristic" may have been dictated by the liability lawyers.

That's pretty much what I do, but it is annoying

Have we become so mollycoddled by the luxury of our Trophies that even the 30 seconds it takes to stand there and hold the nozzle to fill the tank is too much effort??? :087: :087:
Triumph Trophy! Not for every Tomaz, Dieter or Herman!🇬🇧
