Kind of have had problems, but have a theory. When I am riding at 55mph, the engine is only turning around 3000 rpm...the owners manual rates the alternator at 12 volts 70 watts at 4000 rpm, so it's not cranking out full power, so with all my heated gear and my moto-lights on it's pulling the system down and I loose the radio. If I just drop down into 5th gear to run the 55 mph, I raise my rpms and can feel the difference in my heated gear and no power problems. I'm not an electrical genius so I don't know how to figure out what the alternator is putting out at the reduced rpms...anyone have a figure ?
