Engine failure!
« on: November 08, 2013, 04:02:28 pm »
Here we go again........................

I was travelling to work when suddenly the bike made a loud clanking noise and total power loss. It took 3.5 hours to recover the bike to the dealership and I now await the examination results (will know Sat).

I am sorry but the TT will have to go. This is the second major failure and I cannot rely on it.

The RAC thinks the timing chain may be broken. Either way it is major engine failure.

Even the dealership manager agreed with me when I told him I have no faith in it.

I shall let you know what is said Sat.

Berber--

Did your engine have cam chain rattle while starting and how many miles do you have on it?

Thanks,

Robin

Sorry to hear about the engine failure. It's your choice if you feel the need to get rid but this second bike I've had supplied is perfect  :028: :028:
I would imagine that they will replace the whole engine  :087: I wouldn't accept anything less even if your plan is to move the bike on.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do  :028: :028: :028:

Yes.... good luck.... I think this officially qualifies as a lemon and you need to engage the right people to persuade Triumph to give you a full replacement!
