Engine up-grade e-mail from triumph
« on: November 13, 2013, 06:12:47 PM »
Hi.
Has anybody else received an e-mail from Triumph offering an engine upgrade due to the noisy top end on the engine. I got an e-mail this evening and thought. MMMMM!! :084:
I will obviously call my dealer in the morning to check  but just wanted to make sure it wasn't a scam.
Cheers,
Nick.

Cheers. Thanks for that. I was a little bit iffy as I had one earlier in the day telling me to ignore an earlier jumbled one. Then I got the one this evening when it was too late to call the dealer.

I've had the email aswell - my wife said it was a scam, but I'm happy it's genuine. I'll be on to the dealers in the morning

Hi Vitesse,

I have received the same message at 17:25 Hrs today from Triumph "After Sales" department.

They very politely offer me a free upgrade / improvement to ensure that I am never troubled by the
top end "ticking" noise that some owners have experienced as a result of excessive play within the valve train.

I will also be phoning my Dealer in the morning and will want to know precisiely what the "Free Upgrade" is,
and whether this affects the warranty - does it start again etc ? ....
especially in view of what happened recently to our friend Berber where his engine blew, IIRC after a TPS repair !

The message sent to me was signed as being from Mark Winwood who IS the Triumph UK Warranty manager,
so I am expecting it to be genuine, but will know for sure in the morning.

Mine's a Launch model too.

Yes.... I too have received this e-mail. Even if it is a scam, I will deal direct with the dealer so it will be pretty obvious as soon as I contact them. I will not respond to the e-mail itself.

It is certainly an interesting e-mail to receive and seems a VERY drastic step just to remove a 'ticking' noise! 10 days at the factory, they collect AND provide a replacement ride!

Still, it doesn't really matter how they dress it up... if it gets rid of a potential problem then fine!

Mine is not a launch model either. Purchased Mar 13.
Triumph Trophy! Not for every Tomaz, Dieter or Herman!🇬🇧

I will be taken every possible photograph of the bike before it leaves my place.
