mystery part
« on: November 30, 2013, 09:59:51 pm »
Hello all
Trophy Day 3
Installing the GPS/Sat radio mount. Tore off most the tupperware to see whats inside. Now Im putting it all back together, and I find this on the floor under the bike, front left about under the radiator.
Suggestions on what I might be looking at here?
Looks like a 90 wire boot but don't see where it came from.
A beer for the guy who knows the answer!
Thanks much
Brian

That looks just like a carburetor vent tube on any small gas engine.  I have a yerf dog scout that I just rebuilt the carb on and that thing is just like the one on my scout.

I owe em a beer. Might take me a while to make it to Perth though. (Went to a town called Bunbury near Perth many years ago while in the Navy) You guys like your beer down there!

Is it hollow inside, so a wire could go through it that had a connector that is held by a bolt?

It looks to me like it could be an insulator for an exposed bolt somewhere. IOW, it might have fallen off the wire when something was removed. Such as a starter solenoid or starter wire will sometimes have.

Anyway, I will be taking my TTSE apart next week and if I see anything like that, I will let you know here.
