pantalla, no baja
« on: December 17, 2013, 12:33:16 am »
Hello, forgive me for my English, I hope you understand me.
I have a problem with my Triumph screen, sometimes it does not go down, it stays in the last position, even turning off the engine and removing the key is up, other times it works perfectly well. My bike only has 3000 miles and I worry that with electric start and problems. The dealer does not have very clear that it can be. Have if you can help me.
Thank you.s.

Hello and welcome…. sorry you are having problems with your Trophy.

There are a few threads on screen issues, try the search function.

Some of these have turned out to be down to electric motors, others just needed some additional lubricant.

I still have a problem with my screen. I spoke to the mechanic today about it. After he had changed the engine he had the same problem. He has swapped the sensors over, checked them and it had had a new screen motor fitted. Nothing helps. both he and Triumph are both at a loss as to what is the cause. It appears to be the 'trapping' mechanism.

Not a big problem as it is intermittant. Still a problem though.

Hello Franflores,

Just got my TTSE back from the dealer today with new windscreen motor and new gear position sensor.  Waited 5 weeks for parts.  My windscreen had the same exact symptoms - up but not down, very erratic.  First symptoms occurred in cold temps, however.  Dealer re-lubed the screen mechanism at first and that fixed it for about 2 days.

The 5 weeks without my bike was not a problem for me as I had shoulder surgery the day after I took it to the dealer.

Hello Trampgeo.
Hopefully the problem is fixed, it is the only problem I've had in my Trophy.
Greeting.
