Seen the blown engine
« on: December 17, 2013, 12:02:21 PM »
I took the bike into the Dealership today for its 500 mile service and recall. The head mechanic showed me the old engine. The exhaust valve had snapped at the top of the stem releasing the wide part into the cylinder.

It looked a mess.

Did the mechanic have any theories on the cause, with reports of bad exhaust valve guides being seen this may be the final outcome. :005:

No he didn't. He didn't expand, nor would I expect him too.

I suspect it was just a faulty component.
