Looking for Extended Warranty
« on: January 08, 2014, 05:06:09 AM »
Greetings boys and girls,

When I bought my Trophy back in June, the dealer wanted over US$1000 for a two or three year extension on my warranty.  My last bike was a 2011 Concours and the Kawasaki 3 yr extended warranty was US$340 on top of the Kawasaki 3 year warranty.  I am disappointed that Triumph only provides a 2 year warranty and $1000 is more than I am willing to pay for an extended warranty.

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced extended warranty policy available here in the US?

-Larry Johnson

I paid around $1000 for a 5 year service contract from Western Service Contracts that I purchased through the dealer when I bought the bike.  I did talk him down from $1400 or so, but I'm covered through July 2020, so I feel pretty secure with all that.  I work at a car dealer, and I've always bought service contracts with any new car.  They're just too damn expensive to fix!

You got a good price as the same number of years to extend the factory's warranty for my bike, at time of purchase from my dealer, was $1657!  Did you get yours with unlimited miles and no deductible as well?

$1,495 for 60 months, $100 deductible, on my used 2013 I bought on the 28th of last month. I usually don't buy extended warranties, but when I look at all the gadgetry on that bike, I can see where a person could easily drop that much on a single visit. :005:
