BMW rider looking to make the switch to the TT
« on: January 11, 2014, 12:58:39 am »
Hello TT Forum. I am a long time BMW rider, currently on a K1600GT. I live in Missoula, Montana. I am taking a serious look at the TT as well as the Tiger 1200 Explorer XC. There is much information in this forum and I am enjoying reading all the latest.

Welcome to the Forum. :400:  Although I never cared much for BMW it seems there are a lot of former BMW riders here who have switched to Triumph

I was going to buy a K1600GTL. But then, a bit later, I heard about the TTSE. Wanna guess which I choose?

Welcome aboard Djimmy, fully agree with Cropbiker , as you have probably read elsewhere on the forum at this stage my best recommendation would be for you to take a test ride....just let it go but make sure your wallett is not out of reach  :002:

Welcome djimmy!  Unlike some on this forum, I am a BMW fan  :034:.  That being said, I looked at and tested the R1200RT and the K1600GTL before purchasing my Trophy.  I don't regret my decision!

Cheers!  :821:

After owning nine BMW's,

Two in the last ten months, first one replaced after six months and 7500 miles of appalling gear change and playing hide n Seek with neutral, they replaced it with one that was just as bad and also had terrible noises coming from engine at idle (mechanic at dealers words) BM without even coming to hear it said it was an engine characteristic bollox it was, now gone, TT SE sitting in the garage wonderful beasty.

Check out UKGSER see how men people reading about issues with new GS as they say "no smoke without fire"

I will never own another, the las test incarnation of the boxer is the worst gearbox/clutch on any bike I have ever owned, but hay I've only owned 60 bikes in the last forty years so what do I know ;-)
