Lubricating the windshield mechanism
« on: January 17, 2014, 04:01:54 pm »
I'm in clean and lubricate mode, I want to lubricate the worm drive for the windshield and have bought the correct lubricant, what is the easiest way to get to it. I thought from under the headlight but that didn't work.

Reminds me of when I decided to do that to my ST1300, what a bizarro mechanism they use...  Not too bad to get to on that bike.   I had the very top front fairing bit replaced on my Trophy and the tech said it was quite a job...

I used some ptfe dry lube on the worm drive when I fitted the sat nav wiring.  Now I just spray a bit of acf50 into that general area and around the arms from the f ont and under the rubber flaps whenever I wash it.   I might pull the front again sometime.
