TPS FAILURE
« on: January 17, 2014, 09:53:56 pm »
I know we have many posts about this but it happened to me this morning in the pissing rain! Not fun round a roundabout but my bum cheeks have a few more muscles in them now!  Started again after half an hour and rode it back home. Booked into garage Wednesday. The mileage is 8700, cold and wet!  I love this bike foibles and all but that was f---king dangerous!!!! Rant over!!! :233: :233: :233:

Are you sure that this was caused by a TPS failure?

There are other things that can go wrong in the heavy rain, if the wrong items somehow get wet, such as anywhere there is high voltage that easily shorts out from just a little water.

I assume you saw the other threads about the ECM recall. It seems the TPS failure problem is not a TPS failure at all but is an ECM failure that appears as a TPS failure.
