Good afternoon, morning, evening, night all
« on: January 19, 2014, 01:16:13 PM »
Hello all, I have been following some threads on here for a while and thought I should make the effort to join, been very useful so far and seems very friendly. I have what I guess is one of the last standard bikes ordered for collection 1st march. Seemed like a grown up idea to wait for the new registration but regretting it now as time seems to have slowed down.

Welcome. It might be worth checking the build date of your trophy. As the standard models are no longer being made. I waited until 1st September last year hoping to get a standard model with all the problems sorted and ended up with a bike made 16 months earlier. I now have it booked in for a new cylinder head on the recall.

No doubt it was made ages ago as you say and given my luck will have every problem any trophy has ever had plus some new ones.
It's been sat in the dealers for a fair while as in desperation to move it they have fitted all manner of r and g bits n bobs. That didn't sell it so they dropped loads off the price and that's what tempted me. Was in the market for a late pan European ( would have been my 3rd) but the great price and reviews swayed me. Just hope it's reliable ish.

:401: to the group, Keith!  As you've already found out, this is the right forum for the Trophy.  Betcha can't wait for your new bike to arrive!  Patience until then!

Sounds like you did a good deal. Might be worth asking if the vin number falls into the recall to get it booked in if it does as there is a fairly long wait to get the work done. I've only done 800 miles on mine but it does everything much better than my st1300.
