Add another rider from the Garden State to the Triumph Trophy clan.
Yes, Good Ole' New Jersey.
My wife and I looked for over a year to find a nice bike to handle our riding style.
We basically go everywhere together on one bike.
I started riding in 2008 and a 1990 Honda Pacific Coast (PC800) fell into my lap so I bought it and we have been all over the state of New Jersey on it. That is where my screen name comes from PC-Rider. I use that on ADVrider and it is kind of nostalgic for me so I kept it. Kind of along the lines of EZ Rider, which is how I ride, but that is now kind of tough with a speedometer that goes to 160 MPH !!!!!!!!!
My wife and I had been looking for a motorcycle that was a bit more reliable, age wise anyway. I am told you can't wear out a Honda, but I have tried my best to do so. It is just getting harder to find parts for the Tupperware Torpedo. It is a great bike, but after it blew a radiator hose this past fall I had to make a decision whether to look at my bike in the garage while waiting for parts or find something I can look at the dashboard of while actually on the road.
So, we looked at many bikes and the Trophy fit the bill nicely.
Perhaps not the actual bill of sale, but I could live with shelling out some money for a good bike. (Well, I have to live with my shelling now !)
We picked up our Trophy on a Friday and road 150 miles with no problems.
The next morning it would not start !
I apparently got one of the bad batteries I had read about !!!
My dealer took care of that under the warranty and just before getting it back the recall came out for the ECM !!!!!
I was starting to wonder if I had made a bad choice !
They took care of that very quickly for me and I was finally able to ride it again today and put another 100 miles on it.
We have had a lot of bad weather here on the East Coast so I could not ride it anyway. But once again it runs like a trophy.
So for now I am waiting to see what the next storm system does to see if I can ride it to church tomorrow.
Then try and get my 500 miles on it so I can get it's first service out of the way in one of the coldest and snowiest winters we can remember around here and get ready for some longer rides when the weather breaks.
So, that's my story.
Well, that's not all my story, I know I probably left some stuff out, but I think I have bored you long enough.
Here is where I have been on my motorcycle, just in case you really are bored right now!Stay safe out there.
