You do realise they are illegal???

Road Traffic Act 1989, No 1796, Part II, regulation 11

Round our way I have heard they are starting to crack down on them

:725:You do realise they are illegal???

...... that might not be strictly correct  :084:

You definitely can't have a Blue light ( or any colour other than Red, White, or Amber )
showing to the REAR of a vehicle, but AFAIK, you can have a "steady"
i.e. not "flashing" lamp, of any colour except Red to the front.

Steady blue LED lamps would therefore appear to comply with the  UK RVLR' s 1986   :017:

That probably also explains why the likes of Mr. Stobart' s fleet are often
seen impersonating Christmas all year round without getting "pulled".

Any current or former UK Traffic Cops around that can confirm ?  :725:

Don't come to Queensland !!!
A mate down the range had a set of bluish after market running bulbs, coped a fine, loss points and a defect notice.
Got pulled up by the same cop a week latter, lucky he had already changed them out.

Yeah I saw the police harassment video in another thread.  I have always liked Australia but I guess I was just lucky on my visit.  Spent two weeks visiting a cousin once and wondered why he was always so worried about traffic cops.  The most cautious and fearful driver I've seen.  Even my children remarked.  Now I know why!

It was well before this current crackdown that Geoff got pulled over for his running lights.
Talk about being petty, just an excuse to give you the once over.
I suppose it all depends on how nice the cop is.
