Radio Software
« on: February 14, 2014, 08:58:22 am »
While checking to make sure I had the latest software version for my Trophy Radio,
as described in this old thread : Plaudit radio lm3512
and confirming I have what appears to be the latest version ( 1.03A ),
I also noticed another line that reads, "BB SW 01.7A".

Does anyone know what that is, and whether it is the latest version ?

I'm guessing it might be the Bluetooth Software Version ?

I know this is old, but I randomly have the same problem you described - "BB SW .01.7A". But once I got 1.03, and had my software update. I haven't been able to verify that, though, as I have been getting that BB SW crap. Any idea why? did you figure out what was wrong?

I updated because power to the XM Radio and Zumo were not shutting off, resulting in a low battery by morning if I didn't pull the fuse. Low, as in not enough power to raise the windscreen, let alone activate the starter solenoid. The flash should have fixed that, but the dealer mechanic was telling me my battery was bad. I kept the battery (it starter the bike easily), but supposed ly he updated the software. I want to be sure. I can't put the bike on a trickle charger when staying at motels.

Hi KaliforniaKook,

I don't fully understand all of your message !

I think you might be getting your Software Versions confused ?

When you display the Software Versions on your Instrument Panel there are TWO entries.

One is for RADIO SW, the other is for BB SW.

To check this on your Trophy, Turn the Ignition ON,
and make sure the Radio is OFF by pressing the Volume Down button
repeatedly until it says RADIO OFF.

Turn the Ignition OFF, and then back ON - wait until RADIO OFF is displayed,
then press and hold the "P" Button to get the Diagnostics screen, and select S/W Version.

It gives two lines of information, mine ( 2017 UK ) says  :
"RADIO SW 1.04A"
"BB SW 0.17A"

The latest US RADIO Software version is 1.04E

IGNORE the "BB SW 0.17A" -
this was not updated with the software update,
and was not the cause of the battery drain issue.

RADIO SW Version 1.04E was released to resolve the problem of the US & Canadian
versions of the Audio module equipped with XM Radio, that did not shut down fully
when the Ignition was switched OFF, and caused the main Battery to drain.

If you have RADIO SW 1.04E then that is what you should have.
If it still says 1.04A, then the Dealer did not carry out the Update correctly.

After having the correct software update, there can still be problems if the battery
was damaged by it being drained to such a low voltage.

Despite being recharged, the battery may never be able to hold a full charge again,
ind would need to be replaced with a new one.

I hope that helps to explain !  :028:

Thanks, Coconut. I haven't ever seen two lines before, but it made me think that you meant I should scroll to see the other line.

Ran down to the bike, and went through the sequence - and voila! both lines appeared! No scrolling necessary, just like you said. Never seen that before! So, I'm confused :027:, but at least right now, I know the dealer updated my software (1.04E). (I'm USA.)

So, the battery drain problem should be fixed. That was the whole reason for looking at this.

Hi again,

We all get confused from time to time !  - In my case it's Old Age creeping up !

Glad to be able to help clear up that confusion though, and put your mind at rest  :028:

Cheers  :821:
