TPMS now fitted as standard?
« on: February 20, 2014, 03:51:59 pm »
After ordering a new TTSE with my local dealer and discussing what extras to have, I decided not to have the TPMS after finding out they are not factory fitted and the dealer has to remove wheels and tyres after delivery to install them.

Called in at the showroom today and my nice shiny new bike is there and and it has the monitors factory fitted as standard at no extra cost and the stickers are in the handbook!

Still listed on the Triumph website as an extra at £130.

The specification seems to change in a random way with each bike delivered but I'm a happy boy :152:

Dealer told me they used to be a standard fitment but no longer was, also there is another SE that's been in the showroom for a while before being sold and they are not fitted.

Well having been saved from embarrassment in deepest, darkest Wales by the timely intervention of the TPMS giving me notice to pull over and sort out a slow puncture I swear by the TPMS and highly recommend them as an important safety feature.

totaly support Cropbiker's statement: same happened to us in deep and dark Auvergne, only at the time was riding the Pan European which had no such feature, and we've been really embarrased  :005:
after that mishap made sure that the bike was fitted with "Tyre Watch".

Yes I too highly recommend the TPMS.   But I believe that in the States there is no choice.  All bikes come with it.
