Great Fun.............but didn't last long!
« on: February 10, 2013, 11:55:50 PM »
Picked up the bike last Thursday afternoon, rode it home the long way.  Friday rode to work, 70 mile round trip.  Saturday rode again, ended up with 160 miles total.  Tried the radio at the end of the ride and got the message "audio system not found" (it had worked previously).
Went to ride today and bike will not start.  Starter does not engage and there is a loud click (solenoid sound) coming from under the instrument panel.  Also a check engine light and a message "warning-check manual".  Checked all the standard stuff, kick stand up, neutral, clutch in, kill switch run position.  Battery seems normal, good lights, horn etc.
Was fun while it lasted :161:
Dealer not open till Tuesday, he can then come and haul her away.  Damn!
Will advise once it's sorted out
Cheers,

Saddled up this morning for my first ride since bringing her home last night.
38f and no heated grips. No heat and no indicator on the display.
My goodness this is a fun bike to ride even without the heat.
This after coming off of a series of BMWs including the 2011 RT that I traded in.

No digital speedo today - v cold, so conforming to type so far. Then it came on mid journey (120 m ish).
Clearly not caused by cold, horizontal sleet and strong wind for 50 miles apparently cured it today....

I haven't had any issues with mine yet but I agree with your previous comment.  My entire digital screen could disappear and I would still love riding this bike.  It is about the best motorcycle I have ever ridden.  As soon as Triumph iron out the niggling software issues all will be good.  Better a software issue than some sort of systemic mechanical problem.
