That's a bit too hot for me sungunr. It's great having the sun but not that much heat, I just start to melt. I reckon on about 20 to 22c low 70s that's perfect. What sort of temp do you prefer?
Cheer up they said, things could be worse. So I cheered up and sure enough things DID get worse!

My vote for you would be March 8, when it is 73F / 23C.

I have a (slightly more than)  300 mile / 480 KM ride planned for tomorrow. Going to the NV desert town of Gabbs to have lunch. Choice of exactly one restaurant. Why Gabbs?  Because it is there. But the high will be less than 60F for tomorrow's ride. Just right, IMO.

I think I will get some good use out of my satellite radio out there in the desert.  It's nice to not have to worry about driving out of range.

IMO, a little cold is easy to deal with, such as 20 F (-7C) or so, with the proper clothes. But there's not too much you can do when it's 117 F (+47C) in the AZ desert.

"What sort of temp do you prefer?"

My apologies to our international friends keep forgetting about the whole C vs F thing :431:.  The temps shown are in F.  So basically these are around 26 C.  I am not a fan of wind and rain liners (kind of like riding a snowmobile) and prefer having only a mesh jacket on so I can feel the breeze.  So anywhere between 23- 33 C in AZ is quite nice as there is a lack of humidity here, so as long you stay hydrated you don't really sweat (you do but it evaps instantly which keeps you cooler).  When I visited Adelaide it was very humid there and around 32 C and talk about melting...

Cheers!

Don,

I am the opposite, proper clothing makes even the hottest days a joy to ride in.  A quality evap vest under a mesh jacket, one of the water retaining bead neck coolers make even hot days tolerable.  If there is humidity as say in Jul- Aug I am in your camp, cause nothing is going to help then, but the temps are usually less then, say around 98 F (+36 C).  However I avoid the monsoon season riding because of the flooding potential.

Yeah, I guess you have the experience to ride in super hot weather. But don't those evap vests warm up after a few hours? I have been to AZ in the summer on a cycle before, several times, years ago. While I hate the Phoenix area, I love the Tucson area. Phoenix reminds me of LA, CA, just hotter.
