Salutations from Ohio
« on: March 08, 2014, 12:42:57 pm »
Greetings,

After a painful week of work, I told (I didn't ask) my manager I was taking some time back and blew out of work very early to pick up my Trophy!  It was a little hard to trade in my best friend (ST1300).
A British bike was a logical choice - I cut my teeth on British cars, paying my way through college fixing questionable gearboxes and Lucas gremlins.  I was a little disappointed when all the electrics worked right out of the box on the SE.

Great first day on the bike despite too much salt on the roads and a layer of ice remaining in front of the garage.

A little more about me - I work only so I can tour and have been through 49 states so far.  My other bike is a GL1800 - which is really my wife's bike (she said I went too fast around corners on the ST).

A little early for a libation, so have a pecan waffle on me and think spring.

It has been a nasty winter here in the Buckeye state for sure.  :190: I managed to get rid of the last bit of ice in front of my garage yesterday and plan on getting the trophy out today. They ran out of salt so for the last snow storm they spread sand. Makes for some interesting corners and intersections.  I too worked to ride, but was lucky enough to retire early now I just ride  :046:

Welcome from SW Ohio. Looks like we have a couple of days fit for riding. Enjoy!
Every day is a Saturday when you're retired!

Welcome from another Ohioan.   I'm at the office now, but am seriously considering going home and getting the bike out of hibernation.

What part of Ohio are you in?

I'm in no-man's land in SW Ohio - not too far from Oxford.  Pretty decent area to be a biker.  Judging by the map, there are more than a few of us in the area.
