And in this corner weighing in at 720 pounds......
« on: March 18, 2014, 08:27:24 pm »
is my blue TTSE. Yep, sitting just as it appears in the photo with a full tank of fuel it registered 720 pounds on the big certified scale at our area recycling center. Extra items other than Triumph luggage are a set of handlebar mounted mirrors, rear fender extension, sheepskin seat covers, and the small bags on the passenger grab rails. All the bags and top box are empty. If I remove the tank bag and top box it comes down to 704.

Curious about those small bags.....what do you keep in them?   Where did you get them?

The small bags are from Rapid Transit and I got them at Iron Pony in Columbus, Ohio. I believe they were around $12 to $15 each. Nice zippered bags with heavy duty velcro straps that fit loosely around the grab rails. Now as to why. My wife rides with me a lot. Like most wives she has all this small crap that she can't leave home without and she likes it close at hand. Tissues, gum, chap stick, you get the idea. These are perfect for her little items that she "must" have and she can get to them while cruising down the road. Matter of fact she is the one who found them at Iron Pony. They fit her needs and come off in two seconds if I am making a solo run.

You must have heavy sheep over there  :038:

Those small bags look neat, great and simple idea  :062: I wonder if I can adapt the small Kriega bags to do that.

But a TTSE on a cycle dolly after a Suzuki DR200SE and push it around and you will then think the TTSE is at least ten times as heavy.

That sounds about right actually...I think I read that the panniers are about 22 lbs each empty. Without those it would come in around 660 lbs, which is about what Triumph lists as the wet weight...
