Top Rack for camping
« on: March 19, 2014, 09:02:38 pm »
I am planning a trip where we will be camping most of the time and I am looking for a Top Rack that I can Strap my Waterproof Bag, Tent, Mattresses, and a smaller Waterproof Bag to.
I am riding TWO UP so the only place I have to put all of this stuff is where the Top Case goes, but the Top Rack Platform (Sliding Carriage Rack) for the Top Case is too small for these items.

I have seen some made for BMW, but I can not find one made for any Triumph.

I found one here: http://motooverland.com/index_files/Page508.htm, but this is only for BMW.  They had one for KTM but they no longer make that one.

I found another one here (second picture down): http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcycle-luggage/micatech-pack-rack-and-top-case/, but these guys are out of business and that is only made for BMW also.

I am not looking for a box/case, only a rack that I can Strap those items down to like the ones in the links.

The first one by Motooverland may work, but I have no idea if the mounting holes will line up because my bike is STILL in the shop ! So I can not look at it or measure anything.

I had made one out of plywood for my Honda, but we were not carrying this much stuff on that trip and I was able to use bungee cords.

Anyone find anything for this application or have any ideas.

Much appreciated.

Signed:
Looking to ride my Triumph Someday!

Thanks DonTom, but that rack goes on top of the top case, and there is no way to stack the stuff I mentioned on top of that.
I am basically looking for a flat wide plate with slots for straps to go where the Sliding Carriage Rack is on the Trophy.

That has great possibilities Briang1234.

I just need to get my bike back and see if the mounting holes line up.

Thank you very much.

There are a few around like that. If it doesn't match it might be as easy to make something up yourself from basic hardware store materials, you guys in the US are spoiled for those options.

Very nice.

Plus you made a back rest for your passenger too.  Nice touch.

Looks like you just bolted it right to the Sliding Carriage Rack.
That makes a lot of sense so you don't have to unbolt one to bolt the other one on.   :152:

I will have to see if I can get someone to fabricate me something like that.

Thank you.
