Its been fun but its good bye from me.
« on: March 20, 2014, 07:49:21 am »
So today I have done a deal to trade my Trophy in on a graphite wire wheel Explorer.
The Trophy is an excellent sports tourer but I am now keen to hit some dirt as well. TEX has the essentials of the Trophy but with less weight, less weather protection (I get a bit hot) and more versatility. Suits me nicely.
Will post a pic when I pick it up.
Anyway thanks everyone for your input & info its been fun and informative.

I now have for sale a Titanium Remus pipe in near new condition (have ordered another Remus for my TEX) and 2 Triumph inner pannier bags. PM me if interested.

Cheers
Simon

You'll like the Explorer, plenty competent, very comfy (for me anyway) cracking engine as we all know and easier to handle at low speeds than you might think, especially up on the pegs. As you say, you'll only really miss the weather protection and the gadgets  :007:

Ride safe  :159:

Sorry to see you giving up the Trophy, but you'll still be welcome on this forum. Wish you all the best with the TEX  :821:

I imagine Australia is a lot like the western US in that theres a huge number of roads that a Sport Touring bike just isnt suited for. Im still waiting to see how I adjust to Sport Touring and the Trophy. The Explorer will be a fine touring bike. Enjoy. Heck, I may be following your example in another year or two.

Good choice, Simon. I'm sure a lot of us secretly hanker after a TEX. Good luck with your new bike.

Thanks all for your good wishes.
Dropped the Trophy off this morning and pick up the TEX next week. Rego on the Trophy expires tomorrow!
I'm very excited about the TEX and feel its the perfect choice for me.
Will check out the forum every now & then and will post a pic when I pick it up.
