Paint issue
« on: April 13, 2014, 06:21:56 am »
Fellow forum members I am seeking your assistance. Something has damaged the top of my trophy glovebox. It looks like the skin is coming adrift. Can someone advise is the glovebox top has a plastic paint protection on it or is the top layer of paint peeling. The reason for  this is it will determine how I go about repairing it, either painting again or putting heat on it to get the lifting surface to stick again. Hope someone can assist.

G'day Abner,

Can you please provide a photo? The glove box (front LH on console) is black plastic, not painted so unsure what it could be unless you've got a hydraulic fluid leak from the clutch master cylinder dripping on it?

Wherever you go, there you are.

Bob, not much good doing the photo thing. It is on top of the lid and happened whilst the bike was in for a major service. It looks like a plastic coating and it  is peeling away. Currently is about as big as a match head in area, but will continue to peel off unless something is done with it. Thank you for your response.

Hi Abner62,

Phone the Dealer that did the servicing work,
and then take it to them when convenient for replacement -
either under warranty, or at the Dealer's expense if it was damaged while in their care !

Part Number T2302349 for a new "Stowage Box Assembly, LH" !
