    Another Aussie

    Hi All,

I've been lurking on this forum for a little while now.  I currently ride a 2007 Tiger 1050 which has been a great bike for me but its time to move on.  I've been contemplating a TT SE or a BMW k1600GT.  I haven't been able to get a test ride on the BMW but I had my second ride on a Trophy today.  Its heavy after the Tiger and no where near as flickable and quick but I wouldn't expect it to be.  Anyway, I put my deposit down today and my bike should be delivered in August.  I have ordered one in the fastest colour: Black!  I have also ordered the top box, low seat, heated grips, paint protection, gps mount, R&G drop bars and RadGuard.

August is a long time to wait but I'm spending 6 weeks of it in Europe including race week at the Isle of Man TT races.  Hopefully, playing Terrence the Tourist will help take my mind off the new bike.  I'm not that good at delayed gratification.

A bit about me:  I'm 57 years old so I'm elderly.  I'm a fat bastard.  My first bike was a Honda K2 750.  I also had a 1974 T140 Bonneville and a BMW R90S (Daytona Orange - another fast colour) and a Kawasaki something-or-other in the seventies and eighties.  After a short break for breeding, I had a couple of Harleys in the 90s and then got a 2002 955 Tiger followed by the 2007 1050 Tiger.  I'd love to own a collection of bikes - The Trophy for touring and day trips with my wife, a Speed Triple or Ducati Monster 1200 for commuting and quick spins round the local hills and a Bonney or something cruiserish for hitting the coffee shops.  Unfortunately I'm only allowed one bike at a time or I have to add Tennis Bracelets to the cost of the bike and I'm not that wealthy.

Anyway, thanks to all those who contribute to this site.  You've already added heaps of value for me.  Hope I can return the favour at some point.

    Paul

    G'day Paul,

Welcome and great choice. 2014/15 TT SE are coming in Black? Very traditional Triumph colour. You and the missus won't be disappointed and you'll be surprised once you get used to the TT SE how flickable it is.

There are few of us now riding TT SE in SE QLD.

Howdy Paul  :062:  I am in Canberra but go for rides all over the place as part of Ozstoc (also have an ST1100 parked) and FarRides and IBA rides.  I had to wait for mine to turn up in the 2014 shipment, but you will find it is well worth the wait.

I have all the things you mention on my Trophy, and shortly will have LED headlight bulbs and some LED driving lights once the ECU recall is done.  I will be up in Cooroy end May (staying in Toowoomba on the way back) and Yepoon end June (staying here and there, but Alexandra Hills on the way up)  Have to try and meet up with Trophy owners along the way, but I am sure to be up there again this year a few more times!
