Hi Guy`s

Have just upgraded to the trophy from a BMW 1150RT and really pleased, we have towed a trailer with the rt and now want to fit a tow hitch to the trophy has any one done so or have any info to help.

Hi incabluepirate and  :400:  to the Club !

Not the answer you will be looking for, but Page 5 of the Owners Handbook states :

! WARNING : This motorcycle is not designed to tow a trailer or be fitted with a sidecar.
Fitting a sidecar and/or a trailer may result in loss of control and an accident.

Hi Pirate.

Welcome to the forum!

Great forum, great people, GREAT bike!

The question of towing has been raised a few times, try the search function

Basically the manual says no and there doesn't appear to be anyone with a safe , contradictory opinion on that.

Owner's manuals always say no sidecars and no trailers.
w8d4it knows why. LOL

Only bike (sort of) that I know of that has a trailer approved is the Spyder. Even the Gold Wing manual states no trailer or side car. The bike companies do NOT want to deal with any liability.

Officially, no, the same as the RT and any other bike. But then I know lots of people with tow hitches on bikes that pull trailers. No hitch available for the Trophy as far as I know.
