Held Matera Jacket
« on: May 09, 2014, 05:34:32 pm »
Getgeared are reducing these from £700 to £400 while stocks last, and just wondered if anyone has any experience of them, good or bad? I guess this kind of Goretex jacket will have a limited audience in May, but could be worth buying and putting away 'til the autumn

Venomyellow

I don't have the Held jacket but have had Held Quatrotherm trousers for a couple of years now. Brilliant and the warmest gloves I have owned are my Held Quatrathrem gloves. Never a cold hand.

I did get a Revit Sand 2 jacket last year at the Bike show and that is proving to be an excellent choice for me.

Thanks for that - didn't you stay at the NEC for a couple of days to "stock up" ?

That's correct. had a good day with you, ticketyboo and coconut. Looked around priced things up. Next day went in for the kill :745: and got good deals.

Hi Guys

As it happens I have the trousers, which are fantastic!  I was going to buy Rukka this year but because the trousers hve been so good I am looking at a HELD jacket.  I have seen them in the local shop for £700 and the quality is excellent.  Be good to hear from someone who has one!

Really tempted to get the jacket, but when I look at the Held website it does not show this jacket.  Does anyone know if it's now last years model so to speak?

I think you're right Ian - it must be nearly half price because it's a discontinued jacket. The last review i saw was for Sep13. I bet they'll be even less money at the NEC in November, if they have any sizes left. I'm very tempted, but the question is, do I need another jacket, particularly as I haven't even taken the H2sport out in a downpour yet?
