Sun Screens for SatNAv
« on: May 10, 2014, 01:28:42 pm »
Dear All

I have a Garmin SatNav, don't laugh!  And yes it's rubbish, but does anyone use a sunscreen with theirs?  I have seen two a hard surround and a soft one, just after your thoughts on it.

Cheers Ian

I have the hard shade type.... I think it is called Robins Hoods... Excellent piece of kit, stops vast majority of reflection on the screen and makes it much easier to see...

There is a post here which has a pic and a link to the site I got it from

I too have been looking everywhere for a decent sun hood. Just looked on their site. They talk about Tourtech mounts.

Did this just fit straight onto your Triumph mount or any fettling.

Well I have been looking at these and going to take a punt at this one which looks easy enough to use and put away when not in use.  The plastic ones that I have seen don't seem to cover the screen enough, anyway I will keep you posted!

Hi Seadog...This fit very easily to the zumo.... a couple of bits of velcro either side of the sat nag and then the shade fits right to it allowing access to the on off switch and easily connect and disconnect from the cradle. Doesn't interfere in any way with the screen or the Triumph mount

Since 2011 I have been using the Glarestomper sunshade on my Zumo 665. It's soft and pliable and can be folded down over the screen when the GPS is not needed. There are different sizes to fit different units.

Cheers donmoe

That's the one I have just ordered, same firm just via ebay!.

Just so many things you can buy for a bike!  Coconut popped in yesterday with the cover, great to see him even without a bike!  :046:
