Thinking of Getting a Trophy
« on: May 11, 2014, 09:19:24 pm »
First post and I do not own a Triumph (yet) so please be gentle with me!

I am thinking about replacing my R1200RT SE and was advised (by my Triumph riding friends) to take a test on the Trophy which I did on Saturday.

Now I am seriously looking at placing an order and just wanted to know what sort of aftermarket accessories are available. In particular; are there city lids for the panniers, foot peg lowering kits and handlebar "bar back" available?

Whilst posting are there any other popular accessories I should be aware of?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Welcome to the Forum :400: Lots of guys start out on this forum without owning a Trophy so no need to feel awkward.  There is a sub forum devoted to Modifications and Appearance that should answer many of your questions on accessories.   All the topics you mention have been discussed before and the search function is excellent.

Hi TJ and welcome! :400:

The other guys have already given some great advice on where to look but if you can't find what you are looking for, just ask!

Hi TJRL and  :400:  to the Club !

Undoubtedly more and more items will become available for the "new" Trophy,
so, as suggested, keep an eye on the Modifications and Appearance Section of the Forum  :169:

R & G Racing have a good range of Protection accessories, but not for Panniers ( yet ? ),
and there are other companies such as Power Bronze who do Headlamp protection and Huggers for the Trophy.

Paint protection ( Clear 3M film ) can be provided by Triumph, to protect against paintwork scratches,
but there are other suppliers such as Tony James Designs, West Midlands who have a Paint protection kit
that covers far more of the panels, and is more "economical" !

Regards,

Many thanks to all for making me welcome and for the suggestions on where to look for bits.

I have had a few days for a good delve about and found lots of interesting stuff but have failed to find a supplier of city lids or narrow panniers. Do they exist or are they just not available?
