I have not seen or heard a talk talk sat nav so can't advise there.

Having used both tom tom rider and Garmin I personally would recommend the Garmin. I have had both the Zumo 550 and 660 and find the mapping, user interface and whole integration to the Trophy systems far superior to the tom tom.

The one downside I have found with Garmin is the desktop software used for major route planning. Compared to the GpS unit software it is nowhere near as slick or as intuitive.

tomtom or garmin not worth what you pay for them
find a phone IP57 from 89 euros, and you have the browser you want gps

It really depends on how you'll use your device. Disregarding price, For folks who want lots of routing features, tracks, custom mapsets the Garmin absolutely cant be beat. For basic navigation they all seem great. Personal preference.

I recently had an issue where I had to loan my Garmin 660 to someone and then had to go away myself somewhere I wasn't familiar..

I just used a free sat nav app on my iPhone giving me voice instructions only over the audio system with the phone in the glovebox.

It seemed to work pretty well.... At least I got where I wanted to be! :745:

As Brian says... It really depends what you want from your navigation choice
