MIDLAND BTX1/2 AND TROPHY, CONNECTION ISSUE
« on: May 15, 2014, 10:16:37 am »
Hi,
does anybody have experience on connection between the BTX1/2 MIDLAND INTERCOM BT with the Trophy BT system?

I'm not able to connect it through the HEADSET BT exit, but I cna connect it only through the second exit (SECOND SOURCE, I dont remember the name indicated into the Trophy BT system menu)..  :148:

I can connect the cellularline BT system but not the midland. Did somebody made the firmware udpate and it worked after?

Thank you for your help.

Hi biboy,

The Trophy Bluetooth system is Version 2.1 + EDR, allowing connection to Bluetooth Headsets,
Streaming music devices, and compatible Mobile Phones.

According to the Midland Europe web site, Midland BTX-1 is Bluetooth Version 3,
so it may not be compatible to connect to the Trophy as a "Headset".
( The "HEADSET" setting of the Trophy will ONLY allow compatible Headsets to be paired ).

The second setting on the Trophy that you mention is for a Bluetooth "DEVICE".

The DEVICE setting is for connecting a compatible Headset OR other Bluetooth equipment
such as Media Players and Mobile Phones, which can stream music using the A2DP protocol.

If your Midland BTX-1 will connect ONLY to the DEVICE setting,
then it is probably being set up as something other than a Headset,
and may not work correctly as a Headset.

I would Contact Midland and see if they can offer any advice,
and whether the firmware in your Headset can be changed to Bluetooth Version 2.1 + EDR

I went to Midland, they only made me reset the device...nothing more.
I'm expecting answer from thriumph about an update of the bike software.
If I-ll got no answer I will sell BTX and buy the CELLULARLINE one.
I dont like to lose one input on the bike and also lose the chance to connect the phone too, because this is what is happening now.

Hi biboy,

hope I'm not to late... but i couldn't answer before, because i own a trophy SE since 04Th of September. :152:
I have a midland btx1 also, the btx 1 has firmware from June, 19Th in 2014 and works on the tropy SE (build 10/2012) as a headset without any problems.  Connected in short time, code is "0000". Quality is perfect for me.

Next step: Now i have to connect my tomtom rider v4 (this one has no audio-out) to the audio-system of the tropy, because the midland btx1 cannot connect to trophy and the rider at the same time.

And.... great bike to ride   :047:
