Angel GT noise
« on: May 19, 2014, 02:59:27 pm »
I changed the front tyre to an Angel GT recently, and I'm not sure if it's just me, but I seem to be hearing a lot more 'road noise' now ............................. on some road surfaces it's a real pain!!

Didn't seem to be a problem with the ST though so I'm wondering if it's because the tyre is a different compound?

Anybody else noticed this?

I made the same change about 4 months ago.  I never noticed any difference in road noise.  Although to be honest your hearing must be better than mine because, on a motorcycle, I have never noticed the noise made by the tire.  The wind noise has always drowned it out.

Is it "A" spec?

Some tyres do give off different noises on different road surfaces.  I have only tried the ST and the PR3s, and so far not much difference between them noise wise.  And I wear ear plugs all the time.

I'd suggest that you make sure the ABS sensor washer was reinstalled, assuming they removed it (see my posts on the 'Pirelli Angel' thread).  At first I thought the tires were very noisy, before finding out that the sensor was making contact with the tone ring.  I'm getting no abnormal noise from the tires at all at this point.

I'm hearing noise from them after about 4000 km. only when going straight goes quiet around curves.
