What are these connectors??
« on: November 26, 2017, 08:08:02 PM »
Folks,

I pulled the "Cockpit stowage box" out earlier today and found three electrical connectors under it.  I was sort of looking for the GPS power connection but not sure if one of these is it.

Primarily the gray one next to my index finger but also wonder about the two white ones packed with grease.  Now I wonder if those are for heated grips but the wires look a little small for that possible power consumption.  I know the various connector near the palm of my hand go to the actual stowage box (USB and rubber boot).

Different view:

Thanks in advance.

Rick

Hey, Rick - the grey one next to your index finger should be for the heated grips "shorting" plug.  The two small white ones should be for the heated grips, as you surmised.

OK, thanks.  I guess I'm still on the search for the GPS power plug.  I swear it's hiding to spite me.   :169:

Remove your left turn signal, remove the bolt on the other side and pop the small panel off (the one that goes around the back of your mirror and extends under the left side of the headlight.  You will see a cluster of wires.  The gps power will be amongst them.  My recollection was the wire was Velcroed to the large harness.

The plug that has the small red wire is the connector (you must buy from Triumph)the other half is what you are looking for, but it will have a couple of rubber plugs In it. The last picture shows the grommet you have to hook into when you replace the panel.

The 2nd Photo also shows the Audio connection ( connected ) - running horizontally,
just above the wire sheath with a white tag around it.

The Power plug has one single plastic blanking plug inserted into it,
while the Audio Plug has a rubber sleeve over the male jack plug.

Smiles are infectious, and they are FREE,
so if you see someone without one, give them one of yours :-)
