Triumph ACE CAFE Londen 8 jun

I want to go to this event.
I have a question about the headlight
Do I have to cover the beam of the light?
if yes: how to? and are there things on the marked to made it easy?

When riding in a Country other than your own, where you need to ride on the opposite side of the road,
it s important ( and a legal requirement in most if not all Countries ) that your headlamps are adjusted
so that they do not dazzle oncoming road users.

Headlamps are designed to throw and extra beam of light further along the "nearside" of the road,
to help illuminate along the footpath you are riding next to.

It is this extra beam of light that can dazzle oncoming road users, when you switch Countries
and ride on the "other" side of the road - the Beam intended to illuminate the footpath
now illuminates the side of the road where the oncoming vehicles are  :012:

It "may" be that by adjusting the Trophy's electrically adjustable headlight to the lowest setting,
this will be low enough to prevent dazzle, but the only way to tell for sure would be to get out in the dark
and try it, with the intended luggage and pillion, and the TES set to whatever you prefer.
( See the Owners Handbook - Page 41 - 42 ... "Select / Adjustment / Headlight" ).

There are products on the market that can be used to mask off, or deflect the part of the headlamp cover
that emits the beam causing the dazzle, such as these : Eurolites Headlamp Beam Deflectors
or similar products available from most vehicle accessory outlets.

Not to be too argumentative but I thought just about all bikes nowadays (TT included) have a centre dip so you do not have to change for european countries?  That is why you no longer get the 'markings' to blank out on headlights?

Hi John,

You could well be right - my comments were based on making an assumption from the original question.

Anyone fancy volunteering to go out in the dark and check ?  :164: !

Also off subject, I will pop along as I live round the corner, what time is anyone thinking?
I have never seen another trophy out and about!
