My dealer called me today to report that my cylinder head kit was in and they would like to schedule the service event. However, they were trying to determine if they had to pull the engine from the bike to do this work?

I am reaching out to any member who had their cylinder head replaced under the TSB. I'd like to have my dealer speak with a dealer who has performed the work to assist in the process. It is obvious that my Trophy SE is the first one they are doing, so any additional info would be helpful to them. They did not ask for help but I thought this might be beneficial to them....and to me.

Thank you!

Yes, you have to pull the engine to do the head work.  Killeen Power Sports has a good service dept.

My engine upgrade was performed by Florida Sports Cycle in Stuart, Florida. After the engine was removed, the mechanic also discovered that all six exhaust valves were pitted after 42K miles. The replacements were not in stock in the USA and thus the bike had to wait nearly an extra two nearly weeks for them to be shipped over from England. The other day another other Triumph service manager told me that the exhaust valves were similarly pitted on a low-mileage bike and replacements took a while to arrive.

Mancuso Motosports in Houston has done the head replacement.  Not at I would recommend them.  I'm surprised your dealer has to ask.  I would think the service manual would detail the procedure

Sorry Guys. But if the dealer has to ask if the engine has to come out then that would send Alarm bells ringing and I would not let him touch the bike. Period

Find another dealer who can positively do the work.

Hope it works out for you
